Cinema Module

Embed YouTube or Vimeo videos as cards in a grid or slider. Posters are optional, and playback opens in a lightbox.

Version 3.0.2
Updated 8 May 2026
View Changelog

Overview

You can introduce the section with a main heading, a short line underneath, and optional longer copy so visitors know what they are looking at. Build your reel by adding one or more cards—each can include a title, subtitle, optional description, and a video link from YouTube or Vimeo.

Choose grid or slider so cards sit in a responsive grid or in a carousel visitors step through, similar to other showcase areas on Digifox sites. Playback opens in a lightbox on top of the page, which keeps people on your site and avoids cluttering the layout.

For each card you can upload a still image as the poster; if you skip it, Cinema uses a thumbnail from the video when the host provides one. Columns, gap, padding, portrait or landscape layout, text alignment, and optional border and background let you tune spacing and look so the block fits your brand. Image crop offers Natural, 4:3, or square—the tighter ratios keep rows neat when you use posters or stills.

Content Fields

Heading
The main title shown at the top of the Cinema module

Intro
Optional short line or subheading under the heading.

Description
Optional longer text about this section. Line breaks are preserved so you can structure paragraphs.

Reel
The list of Cinema Cards visitors see. Use Add Cinema Card for each item.

Title
The card’s primary heading.

Subtitle
A secondary line (optional).

Description
Extra text for that card (optional).

Video
Paste an embeddable link (for example from YouTube or Vimeo). This is the clip that plays when someone opens the video.

Image
Optional poster or preview still for this card. Recommended size 600 × 450px. If you leave it empty, Cinema uses a thumbnail from the hosted video when the platform provides one.

Settings Fields

Active
Control whether the Cinema module should display for visitors. If you are not using it yet or are not ready, set it to No.

Order
A number that controls where this module appears among other homepage modules (lower numbers typically appear higher on the page).

Menu
Optional label in the navigation with jump links that scroll to this module.

Display
Grid shows all cards in a responsive grid. Slider shows the cards in a carousel visitors step through.

Columns
How many columns the grid uses (1–5). When you have more cards than columns, extra cards wrap to a new row in grid mode, or appear as visitors move through the slider.

Gap
Space between cards in pixels.

Padding
Inner spacing for the block, in pixels, so content does not sit flush against the edges. Especially useful when you have text content as well as borders.

Image Radius
Rounds the corners of card images, as a percentage.
Use -1 to use global settings as per Setup.

Image Crop
You can control how images are cropped so all cards look uniform.

Layout
Overall shape of each card’s media area: portrait (taller) or landscape (wider).
Portrait puts video above the optional text.
Landscape puts video to the left of the optional text.

Text Align
Aligns title and text under each card.

Border
Adds a visible border around cards when enabled.
The color is set in Setup.

Background
Applies a background to cards.
The color is set in Setup.

Equal Heights
Enable cards to adopt the height of the tallest card even when titles or descriptions differ in length.

Pagination
Navigation options for how visitors move between slider cards.

Speed
Set the transition time between slides, in milliseconds.

Delay
When using the slider, pause between automatic advances, in milliseconds.
Set to 0 to disable autoplay and let visitors change slides themselves.

Custom Style
Advanced option: set to Yes to unlock the extra CSS field for custom style tweaks.
